Milestone for New PLUS Distribution Center in Deventer

The construction of the new PLUS distribution center in Deventer has reached a new milestone. The building is now wind and waterproof, keeping it on track to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.

The distribution center is located on a plot of land the size of 25 soccer fields. It used 3,000 tons of steel for construction and drove 11 kilometers of foundation piles into the ground. The new distribution center features 142 dock doors and is three times larger than the current fresh distribution center in Deventer.

Björn Bertrand, Director of Real Estate and Development at PLUS, said, "With this new fresh distribution center, we will be able to supply our supermarkets with fresh products in a more sustainable manner. The 14,500 solar panels will generate more electricity than we consume. It's one of the great examples of how we prioritize sustainability in our real estate projects. Thanks to the excellent collaboration with our construction partners, we are on schedule for completion in the first quarter of 2024."

"The new Fresh distribution center in Deventer is an important part of our new supply chain network. Along with the existing distribution center in Barendrecht, it enables us to further streamline our supply chain processes," added Rowell Versleijen, Director of Supply Chain.

The building is being developed by HBC, a collaboration between HVBM Vastgoed and Bruil Bouw Groep. In the coming months, work will continue on the steel structure for the parking garage and the further interior design of the building.
