HVBM Vastgoed starts construction of new distribution center for Stedin in Vianen

On Friday, April 19th, the construction of a new distribution center for Stedin in Vianen was officially launched. Due to the renovation of the electricity grid, the grid operator requires significantly more materials and therefore needs space to store them. With this new distribution center, Stedin's storage capacity will double at once to 60,000 square meters. Stedin is expected to move into the building by mid-2025.

CFO Danny Benima stated, "Stedin literally needs more 'shelf space' to store all its materials, from screws to transformers. With this new distribution center, we will be able to maintain larger inventories. Having more items readily available on the shelves will make us less susceptible to material shortages. This reduces our vulnerability and ensures that our technicians can proceed more quickly with the reinforcement and expansion of our electricity grid."

4,000 Different Materials
The new distribution center will be located in business park De Biezen in Vianen, where Stedin will lease the property from HVBM Vastgoed on a long-term basis. The business park is conveniently situated near the intersection of highways A2 and A27, and just a few minutes away from A12 and A28. The distribution center will cover an area of 34,000 square meters for storing around 4,000 different types of materials. HVBM Vastgoed is developing the new distribution center for Stedin in accordance with BREEAM-NL New Construction 'Excellent' guidelines. Stedin has allocated €50 million for its new distribution center.
