HVBM Vastgoed contributes to Jumbo's rapid online growth

On Monday 21 June, Jumbo Supermarkets opened a new home delivery location at Business Park A1 in Deventer. This is the first of six new-build home delivery hubs that HVBM Vastgoed is developing for Jumbo.

In order to be able to deliver the growing number of online orders to its customers quickly and efficiently, Jumbo is opening home delivery hubs in several places in the Netherlands, which significantly increases the online delivery capacity. With this Jumbo provides an even stronger omnichannel offer for its customers.

HVBM Vastgoed has developed a City Hub concept for Jumbo together with Jumbo, Dedato Architecten and Cushman & Wakefield. The City Hubs are leased by Jumbo on a long-term basis and are located at centrally located business locations, such as in Deventer. From June, HVBM Vastgoed will deliver a new home delivery location to Jumbo every month according to the City Hub concept.

Adriaan Molenschot, Managing Director of HVBM Vastgoed: “We are very proud of our collaboration with Jumbo and the contribution we can make to Jumbo's online growth. With this we focus on a new type of logistics real estate and confirm our approach as a 'built to suit' developer for successful online retailers such as Jumbo, De Bijenkorf, Decathlon and Coolblue”.

Justin Buitenhuis, Manager Jumbo Online: “Due to the enormous online growth of Jumbo, we were looking for a development partner who could switch quickly, who could think along with our wishes and who has experience with logistics retail real estate. We have found a solid partner in HVBM. In a short time we went through a pleasant process from sketch to building. The first of at least six new hubs is now located in Deventer, which will help us deliver the groceries to the customer even more fun and more efficiently.”
