HVBM Vastgoed and Smartwares Group Receive BREEAM Excellent Certificate
HVBM Vastgoed and Smartwares Group recently received the BREEAM-NL Excellent completion certificate from the DGBC for distribution center DC Charlotte in Tilburg. Adamas Group has been involved in the project since its design phase as a BREEAM expert.
DC Charlotte is a 'build to suit' development by HVBM Vastgoed and consists of over 45,000 m² of warehouse and office space and is located in the Kraaiven industrial area in Tilburg. The building was developed in accordance with the BREEAM-NL 2020 guidelines and achieved a score of 71.88%. This demonstrates that achieving a BREEAM Excellent score for distribution centers based on the tightened BREEAM guidelines 2020 is still achievable.
During the design and construction phases, various aspects of environmental sustainability were taken into account. For instance, the building does not use gas, and collected rainwater is utilized for toilets and irrigation of green areas. Attention was also paid to ensuring the optimal performance of installations, and measures were taken during construction to minimize the environmental impact of the construction site. Over 11,000 solar panels have been installed on the roof of the excellently insulated building for sustainable energy generation, which is utilized by the tenant for its logistical processes and the charging stations on the premises. Additionally, various ecological measures have been implemented on and around the building, such as bird and bat boxes, an insect hotel, and sustainable planting.
HVBM Vastgoed extends its gratitude to tenant Smartwares Group, BREEAM Expert Adamasgroep, and the project team for their collaboration and congratulates them on the achieved result!
