HVBM Vastgoed and Bruil deliver DC Deventer to PLUS
The new distribution center in Deventer has been delivered to PLUS by HBC. The distribution center will be further equipped and filled with thousands of fresh products in the coming period. The first deliveries to supermarkets will commence at the end of May.
Tony Vendrig, Director of Supply Chain at PLUS: "With the opening of this new fresh distribution center, we are completing the supply chain integration of PLUS and COOP. We can now deliver products to customers more efficiently, sustainably, and fresher. That's what we aim for!"
High sustainability requirements
Sustainability requirements played a crucial role in the development of the new distribution center. The building and surrounding area are designed with a focus on circularity and nature inclusivity. Energy is generated through a dedicated solar power installation comprising over 14,000 solar panels with an installed capacity of 8 MWp, producing over 7 million kWh of solar power annually. PLUS has created a pleasant and inviting working environment for employees, featuring ample daylight and a comfortable climate. Thanks to these efforts, the BREEAM Excellent design certificate has been achieved.
Space for subletting
Upon completion, PLUS will not use the entire distribution center. Therefore, approximately 15,000 m² of office and logistics space is available for subletting.
Björn Bertrand, Director of Real Estate at PLUS: "DC Deventer is a state-of-the-art distribution center that meets high sustainability standards. The smooth construction process is a great compliment to our construction and development partner and all subcontractors."
About DC Deventer
The new distribution center will replace the existing one in Deventer. The building spans 77,000 m² and is located on a plot of over 13 hectares, three times larger than the current distribution center. The facility will store 3,500 unique fresh products, loaded onto trucks via 142 dock doors, destined for the 280 PLUS and Coop stores supplied by the distribution center.
The new fresh distribution center of PLUS at A1 business park in Deventer is a development by HBC, a collaboration between HVBM Vastgoed and Bruil Construction Group.
Adriaan Molenschot, managing director of HVBM Vastgoed: "We are proud of the achieved result. It is the outcome of excellent collaboration between HVBM Vastgoed, Bruil, PLUS, the Municipality of Deventer, and all involved construction partners. With this circular distribution center meeting high sustainability standards, we make a valuable contribution to the ambitions of this outstanding company."
